THAT AUDI COMMERCIAL MAY WELL BE THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE!
Remember the Audi commercial about the “Green Police”? It has gone viral and stirred up much controversy (I’d say Audi may be laughing all the way to the bank!) in the political blogs and mainstream media.
Here it is again! ENJOY! Directly from AudiUSA. (Thanks also to the Christian Science Monitor)
I said a few days ago: “Have a good laugh and let’s hope Audi did not unknowingly do a short libertarian documentary disguised as a TV commercial.” I fear they did!
Well, try out this article from the Express in Great Britain (courtesy of the Lew Rockwell blog!) about the bin police that will search through trash for illegal items! It’s in the commercial!- see the scene where the green police find an object in the trash and storm the house SWAT-style – and the next scene shows the compost incident at night.
AN ARMY of snooping bin police will inspect the rubbish of millions of families under a sinister Government plan to create “zero waste” in Britain.
Squads of spies will carry out dawn raids to check that householders are not throwing out any rubbish and recycling it all instead.
Wait! There’s more!
Laws passed in 2005 give town halls power to enter premises “to examine and investigate as required” and “to take samples of articles or substances found” if they think householders have broken any waste rules.
Critics last night said the move was another blow to civil liberties and warned that the “deluded” idea of creating a zero-waste society was simply “unachieveable”.
Bob Neill, Shadow Minister for Local Government, said: “Ministers are planning regular inspections of people’s bins by town hall bin police.
“Sinister laws passed by the Government allow inspectors to enter your home and garden, inspect your bins and take away samples and then fine you for breaching minor rules.
“This Binquisition is another sign of how Labour don’t care about the privacy of law-abiding citizens and treat home owners like common criminals.”
I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried! Of course the Tories are little better than Labour these days. If I lived in Great Britain, every General Election, I would be off to some district to run for MP for the UKIP (UK Independence Party) as my humble service for my country. Perhaps the Tories ought to remember these words of William Pitt the Elder:
”The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the force of the crown. It may be frail–its roof may shake–the wind may blow through it–the storm may enter, the rain may enter–but the King of England cannot enter–all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement.”
