BusinessReport.com from Baton Rouge has an article about a new kind of pipeline: One that carries carbon dioxide from Louisiana to Texas so it can be stored safely. The Governor was quoted in strong support:

“This is a first-of-its-kind project here in Louisiana, and it ties together two critical areas for our state—economic development and energy exploration,” says Gov. Bobby Jindal, who touted the project in late May along with U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy and Denbury [Resources] officials.

I am sure that Governor Jindal’s part was more cheerleader than participant; however, the new sense that Louisiana is in the business game to play – ethics laws and more business-friendly taxes surely all helped out. The post-Gustav effort also counts, too. Governor Jindal is a leader our nation needs desperately.

I just watched the Weather Channel’s documentary on Hurricane Katrina (When Weather Changed History). It is not political but it did interview Governor Jindal twice. Once he spoke about preparedness and was very eloquent. He also spoke to the need to restore wetlands as well. (And you thought Jindal was not environmental!) The documentary also reported the New Orleans evacuation for Gustav in 2008 was much more effective than the Katrina disaster.

Jindal in the interview was poised, relevant and persuasive. I hope more people will get to see this documentary – check your local listings for repeats.
