Ron Paul pulled well in the Republicans primaries and among the youth of America precisely because he offered something distinct from the sad sacks he was running against.
Reason was critical of the social conservatives for reasons such as flag-burning and English only laws. But Ron Paul is a social conservative as well as a libertarian. Perhaps we are seeing an alliance between some social conservatives and libertarians. But Reason is right in that Paul’s message offers hope to the youth.
