Jindal Saying No to Portions of Obama Stimulus

How bold. Governor Bobby Jindal is saying he will not be accepting portions of the Obama stimulus money for Louisiana. Here’s more from Politico:

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced Friday that he will decline stimulus money specifically targeted at expanding state unemployment insurance coverage, becoming the first state executive to officially refuse any part of the federal government’s payout to states.

So why is Gov. Jindal doing this? He says it’s because he’s concerned about future increases in taxes in this area and want to be fiscally responsible. Critics, I’m sure, will say this is political posturing.

I’m just glad someone in power with authority is standing up to this stimulus and refusing to take part. Definitely impressed with this stance. What do you think?

  1. Even if it is political posturing, that’s fine and dandy with me – it might mean…Jindal 2012! ;) Regardless, I’m impressed as well.

  2. I am sorry I missed your comment, Tracy! Thanks for coming by and come back again.
