Believing that the world will end in the decade before and directly after each new century is also uniquely American in nature. It’s been happening since the 17th century.

Thanks for coming by Invictus! That double zero is a tempting and scary milestone. I remember 2000 and I recorded the entire 24.5 hours of the millennium coming in in different places. it was awe-inspiring.

YES I know the millennium started in 2001! But the 1999 to 2000 was more dramatic.

Come back again, Invictus!

Thanks, tajitj for your comment and your kind words.

I like Gary Johnson but I am not sure about his position on social questions. I recognize there are socially liberal libertarians and socially conservative ones. I respect both positions. He has credentials as a governor. He will need to expand his exposure. He may be interested in the Libertarian party nomination.

If you want to write a nice 300-600 word post on Gary Johnson in 2012, send it to me and I'll consider publishing it here! Come back again and invite your friends to come too.

What do you think about Gary Johnson? Some Paul supporters (like myself) think Paul might decide not to run and encourage and endorse someone to run. If he does not run some candidates will wanting his money and supporters for sure.

One thing for sure Johnson did not go negative at all during his runs for Governor so I look forward to a fair positive debate with someone like Bobby Jindal is he runs, great site here!

Thank you, Randi for reading this blog and for your comment. I think that age is not the issue as much as health and spryness. Churchill was in his seventies when he was PM the second time and Konrad Adenauer was over 80 as Chancellor of Germany. Cong. Paul still seems as sharp as ever and appears to be one who takes some care of himself - skinny even.

Gov. Jindal would bring to the Paul/Jindal ticket more intellectual prowess and youth as well.

Ron Paul has some good ideas, but Ron Paul is too old to be President. He was too old last year, and he will be too old again in 2012.

We have already had a 70+ year old president, and we were rewarded with 8 years of a senile guy who napped while his cabinet ran the country. We don't need that again.
