AN AMAZING STRAW POLL FROM CPAC! JINDAL STRONG SECOND AND PAUL FOURTH!
I am not at CPAC due to family commitments this weekend but a fellow blogger and good friend, Tom White is there on behalf of his blog: www.varight.com . Visit Tom White’s site and say hello – tell ‘em Sandy sent you!
But the CPAC straw poll is out and there are two surprises: In a solid second place, just six points behind former Governor Mitt Romney is Bobby Jindal. That’s right. Governor Jindal had 14 percent. This is more surprising when you consider that Romney is unofficially campaigning for President and Jindal has disavowed any interest in the White House.
The other surprise is that Cong. Ron Paul came in fourth, right behind former Gov. Sarah Palin. He had 13% of the straw poll votes. This shows that Paul has made inroads into the conservative activists who frequent CPAC and related events.
Next year’s straw poll will be critical: I have indicated my interest in being a credentialed blogger for CPAC and if selected, I’ll live blog from there. Can I cast half a vote for Jindal and half for Paul? In the meantime, read my friend Tom White’s blog!

Sadly Jindal is no Ron Paul. He does talk a good story but is a prowar neocon nationbuilder through and through.

I do not fully agree with you on that point although I would characterize Jindal as a traditional national security conservative. He is however brilliant and a worthy role model in his many achievements.
Ron Paul is right on many issues and even when he is not right, he still educates the public to the issues he raises.
Thank you for coming and encourage your friends to come as well!

Ann Coulter said at CPAC that she loves most of Ron Paul’s domestic policy, but not his foreign policy. She also said that if we enact Paul’s domestic agenda that at least she will not be forced to pay for the pot for the unemployed Ron Paul supporters. There is a lot to be said for personal responsibility.

Thanks Tom for coming by! Tom was an Official Blogger at CPAC and I could not try out this year but I plan to try out next year. I do agree with aspects of Paul’s foreign policy but I will not give a blanket endorsement. But I thoroughly agree with Coulter that no pot subsidy in a Paul administration.
Tom White has a great blog at http://www.varight.com. Go visit it. He was a huge help to me as a blogger.
